Each of us has a story. Each of us has a story to tell. That’s why the collaboration between Italiani.it and the School of Writing and Storytelling of Viagrande Studios was born.
What drives us is the desire to bring together the many stories of Italians abroad, of their families, of the journey – physical and mental – that took them to the other side of the Ocean, to make them become, to all intents and purposes, a unique and usable story.
Oh yes, a place (virtual and physical) where anyone can read an exciting and incredible migration story, told by those who have lived that story or heard it told since their childhood.
What is our collaboration? We at the School of Writing and Storytelling of Viagrande Studios, born this year on the slopes of Etna, will offer you an online course on the theory and technique of writing for a story. We will provide you with the tricks of the trade to write your story, according to the basic techniques of storytelling. You will follow online lessons with a teacher, graduated from the two-year period 2010/2012 of the Holden School of Alessandro Baricco.
After that, you will begin to delve into the story that belongs to you. The story that speaks of you, of your ancestors or, why not, of someone you do not know at all, but whose story we will tell you.
A course from Italy, with Italian teachers, entirely dedicated to Italians abroad, which will allow you not only to acquire the basic elements for writing a story, but which will give you the opportunity to make your story and your narrating soul known to the whole world.
In fact, the aim of the course will be to collect all the stories that will be born in an e-book and, subsequently for the best written stories, also a paperback, thanks to the Italiani.it Foundation.

Emanuela Kalb
Sardinian by birth, but of distant German origins, after scientific and legal studies she graduated in 2012 at the two-year master’s degree in Storytelling and Storytelling Techniques of the Holden School of Turin, receiving a special mention for screenplay, story and editing. She has gained significant professional experience in publishing, communication and training for adults and young adults. In 2013 she was selected and published in the literary magazine “Linus” his story “On the Moon”, illustrated by Ale+Ale. Also in 2013 she wrote the screenplay for the award-winning short film I see monsters, directed by the Turin director Federico Alotto. The collaboration with Alotto continues in 2014, when she participates in the first draft of Ulysses subject. In the following years she collaborated permanently as a columnist with the magazine ShoppingMag; she is also an editor, freelance copywriter and writing coach. In 2019 her story The last year in which I dreamed is selected and published in the anthology of stories We will let you know, edited by the writer Francesco Abate. At the moment she is finishing her first collection of short stories entitled Stagioni (Dis)Umane.
